Focal-Point Technology Ltd will be what’s known as the ‘Data Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. As Data Controller, Focal-Point Technology Ltd is committed to protecting the rights of individuals in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We only collect basic personal data including some, or all, of name, e-mail address, direct dial phone number and mobile phone number.

Why we need your data

We need to know your basic personal information (data) so that we can maintain business communications and fulfil contractual obligations. We will not collect any personal data from you that we do not need to provide and oversee this service to you.

What we do with your data

All the personal information (data) we process is done so by our staff in the UK. From time to time we may employ the services of an external telemarketing resource. All data transferred is encrypted and phone numbers called are screened against CTPS registers.

We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

What is our legal basis for processing your personal data

  • Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract. This will include all the stages of contract fulfilment including, but not limited to, the provision of appropriate literature, manuals, drawings and quotations, order processing, order fulfilment and follow up.
  • Consent, where you have asked us to provide updates regarding products and services.
  • Legitimate interest, where we believe that you may be interested in our products and services and that such processing of your data is not unwarranted and will not have a prejudicial effect on your rights and freedoms.

How long we keep your data

We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal information (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years. Your information (data) that we use for marketing purposes will be kept until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive information from us and in any case no longer than is necessary for the reason which it was originally collected. What we would also like to do with your data

We would however like to use your name and email address to inform you about products and services that you may be interested in. This information is not shared with third parties and you can unsubscribe at any time via phone, email or our website. Please indicate below if this is something you would like to sign up to.

If at any point you believe the information (data) that we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information, and have it corrected or deleted.
