Investigation & R&D
Research often means investigating the unknown – usually we start with a hunch, or a basic idea of how to achieve the task. We might have some existing operational knowledge and looking to build on that by characterising the dynamics of a process. It could be probing a completely new process, or adjusting operating parameters, or searching for a measurable compound in an unknown mixture. Whilst we do not claim to have all of the answers and all of the solutions at our disposal, there are a number of techniques that can be proposed and experiences drawn upon to make the investigation more easier. These solutions tend to be based on portable gas analysers because of the rapid deployment and temporary installation, and could develop into permanent installations as the efficacy and cost benefits begin to become defined.
Portable Flue Gas Analysers
A portable flue gas analyser can be deployed to investigate combustion efficiency optimisation, emission monitoring comparative tests, sorbent dosing efficiency, and quickly assess flue gas composition from many novel processes. The Lancom 4 is a sturdy and versatile tool for any combustion investigation.
Fixed and Portable VOC Analysers
A fixed VOC analyser or portable VOC analyser can be used for investigating the performance of Regerative or Non-regenerative Thermal Oxidisers, carbon absorption for VOC abatement processes
Transportable Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers
With an almost infinite combination of measurement possibilities a transportable Mass Spectrometer can provide access to measurements to an unlimited range of measurements providing a unique mass peak can be quantified in the spectrum.
Single and MultiGas Tuneable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS)
The versatility of the TDLAS measurement technique to measure almost any compound without interference from other compounds has made it the choice for many previously difficult to measure applications.
